John Gulbrandsen
 Hi,
I'm the founder and president of Summit Soft Consulting. I have a formal
background in Microprocessor, Digital and Analog Electronics Design and more
than 20 years of in-depth experience with high-speed electronics design, device
drivers and Application Development for both embedded and Windows systems.
The most recent 10 years, I have
worked extensively with Windows and embedded device driver design and
implementation for Western Digital as well as
advanced USB and PCI Express Protocol Analyzer R&D for ITIC.
At Western Digital, I
spent over 9 years as consultant responsible for Microsoft Windows PCI and
PCI Express Device Driver development for multi-gigabit SATA and SAS Host Bus
Adapters. In addition, I was responsible for FPGA-based digital design of
various PCI Express peripheral devices as well as the related device drivers
for both Windows and embedded systems.
At International Test Instruments
Corporation (ITIC), I have worked over 8 years on advanced
FPGA-based Protocol Analyzer designs for USB and PCI Express
high-speed gigabit serial buses. In addition, I was responsible for
designing and implementing the complete C#/.NET - based PC software as well as
embedded firmware for the ITIC 2500A PCI Express Protocol Analyzer.
Technologies involved were high-speed board design, Signal and Power-integrity
analysis, Switched Power Supply design, FPGA Digital Design,
microprocessor-based design, firmware development and Windows device driver and
C#/Windows Forms application development.
Over the years, I have worked extensively with Windows operating system
internals, device drivers and application development for most Windows
platforms, going back to early 1990's and Windows 3.0.
